What Happens After the Treatment?
Aftercare is a very important aspect of this therapy.
1. Walk. It's so simple and has profound results. Without actually causing pain, walk as much as you can. Go for a minimum of 15-30 minutes per day.
2. Water. All of your body functions depend on water. Drink lots of good water throughout the day.
3. Walk - Get up off whatever you are sitting on and walk. On the day of treatment don't sit longer than 30 minutes.
4. Avoid other forms of physically applied therapies during Bowen treatments. Other, particularly manipulative or painful therapies confuse the body and negate the effectiveness of a Bowen treatment.
5. Avoid extremes of temperature. No hot baths or showers. No ice packs No heating or chilling ointments.
6. You may feel the need to sleep. Honor your bodies request as it's telling you what it needs to heal.
7. Responses during the week after a Bowen treatment vary; you can feel fantastic or not so, whichever just know that your body is working to resolve your condition. Make notes of how your body is reacting and changing so you can discuss them at the next session. No matter how iinsignificant the information might seem to you it will fit into the bigger picture of the complex healing process and help your practitioner to choose appropriate procedures in the following sessions.
